Hello! I am an Assistant Instructor and Ph.D. student studying rhetoric and writing at the University of Texas Austin. I graduated from Chapman University with a Master’s degree in English and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I received my bachelor’s degree at the University of Baltimore in Digital communication and professional writing with a minor in drama.
I was born Montéz Jennings in Baltimore City, where I discovered my love for the art and power of storytelling. (Montéz Louria [Lor-ee] is my pen name for non-academic works). My work is a mix of genres exploring various topics relating to Blackness, gender, and pop culture.
